We all know the benefits of clean makeup brushes namely; keeping bacteria at bay! Cleaning your brushes doesn't have to be a tedious exercise and whilst there are many ways to keep them clean, here are our 5 quick and easy steps to get you started;
HOW OFTEN:
Frequency will vary depending on use, if used regularly, wash brushes weekly.
Cleaning brushes regularly will help prevent build up of bacteria.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Bowl of warm waterSmall amount of baby shampoo, daily cleanser OR soap
Paper towel
Brush silicone trivet, such as brush egg (optional)
STEP 1:
Get a bowl of warm water and add a small amount of baby shampoo, daily cleanser OR soap.
STEP 2:
Swirl your brush in the mixture (try not to soak the metal in the water, if it gets wet, the bristles could start to loosen and like any other wear and tear, may start to fall out).
STEP 3:
Gently push the wet bristles of your brush side to side against the palm of your hand OR the silicone brush trivet (brush egg), continue until the brush is clean. Rinse under water, repeat and rinse until water runs clear.
STEP 4:
Once clean, reshape the wet brush head before it dries.
STEP 5:
Lay flat on paper towel to dry. If possible, prop brush against a rolled towel to keep bristles pointing downwards as this prevents the water from damaging the ferrule. VOILA!
